A roof plan is an essential part of the planning phase for any extension work to be performed on an existing roof and it is a scaled illustration which provides notes with detail specifics about the pitch of the roof, as well as its ridges and slopes. Delivered as a simple 2-dimensional (2D) illustration the drawing indicates the shape, size, and extent of the roof, along with underlayment, which shows perspective of the roof. It doesn’t have to be a separate document as sometimes it’s included on the larger site plan. The drawing contains measurements of the whole roof structure, including plan, extent, size, design, shape and positioning all features, for instance, drainage, gutter, ridge, felt, flashing slopes, etc. Our plans contain comprehensive details concerning all features of the roof useful during the development of large-scale construction projects, therefore, it is significant to make the best roof plan. To determine what needs to be done for your project is important to complete a survey of your roof.
We use 3D laser scanners, total stations and many other digital tools, but the level of details is adjusted to the client requirements. All data from the survey is extracted into right software and provided in a digital or hard copy (on request).
The survey information is available in digital CAD file formats. The supplied CAD file formats are ‘.dwg’ and ‘.dxf’ and they are compatible with many other CAD software such as AutoCAD, GstarCAD, SketchUp, 3DMax, Vectorworks, ZWCAD+, BricsCAD, etc.
Measured roof plan drawings are set out at 1:100 scale (A4 or A3 sheet). Units used in producing the drawings are millimetres at a scale of 1:1 rounded to the nearest centimetre.
We pride itself on the quality of our drawings and this is clearly demonstrated with the high level of details and standards. If you are on the lookout for roof survey drawings of your property, you’re in the right place.
